Oh come on Dutch Bond Fan, I love your channel but this is a bit of a "cop out". Can Sean Connery really be automatically the best just because he was the first? His performance was a little idle in Diamonds, as said by yourself. You only Live Twice was a weak movie in the franchise. For me Timothy Dalton is number one because he never had a weak moment. The only downside is his movies did badly at the box office, because he was ahead of his time. This could be a 'reviewed' movie one day.

This may seem recent but Tommorow Never Dies has grown on me alot over the years as one of my favorite bond films. Maybe I'm just a big fan Elliot Carver and the themes of Media Manipulation as a threat and how well its aged. I plan on getting the Bond Collection soon and maybe starting my Annual Viewing of The Bond Films. So far I've only seen the Brosnan and Daniel Craig Films except for Spectre and No time to Die.

Much of the problem of Bond dying at the end of No Time to Die is the fact that he gives up. Bond doesn't give up. And killing off your main character is the absolute laziest way to shock the audience.

Tacky is the pejorative word here. The poor special effects, Connery's vacant performance, crucial deleted scenes, and a terrible ending for Blofeld (thank God for FYEO). Worse still, it's sandwiched between two really excellent Bond films that, unlike Diamonds, are bristling with energy and style! Great title song, I'll give it that much.

Something I found unintentionally funny is that Sean Connery was criticized in Diamonds are Forever for appearing bored with the role at that point in his career, when that's exactly how Bond felt in the novels on that particular mission. It's interesting how the out of order sequence in which they chose to produce the films kind of works in its own way. Really enjoying this side series btw.
